General Information
If you have not been to France before you are in for a treat. The are some great locations such as Provence, the Pyrenees, the French Alps and much more. France and the French are renown for their famous cuisine, language, and romance.

Holidays

Location & Geography
France is bordered by several countries including Spain, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. It is much less urbanised than the UK and the countryside is often beautiful or even spectacular.

The Weather
In the mountains such as the French Alps the winter brings snow and the summer is usually hot and dry. Summer 2003 saw one of the hottest summers on record. Spring and Autumn are usually good times to visit France with typically higher temperatures at these times than in the UK

Currency
The Euro is now the French currency

Driving
In France people drive on the right. Most road signs are similar, but you should familiarise yourself with the signs you don't know. French motoways are often much quicker than the 'national' roads. However, you have to pay to use the motorways.

Documentation
