Holiday in France Information
France in general and the beautiful French Alps in particular is ideal for a walking holiday. However, if you have neved been on a walking holiday in France before there are some things to bear in mind. The walking holiday season in France is April to October. Generally in the French Alps the weather is fine. In fact the weather is often great. However, the area is sometimes prone to heavy rain, or hot temperatures. Just in case it is best to be prepared for a walking holiday so remember to take a hat, sun tan lotion, and some waterproof clothing. Some sturdy boots would also be advisable. Summer 2002 in the French Alps had higher than average rain. Summer 2003 was one of the hottest summers ever in France. The holiday will include daily walks beween 5 and 15 miles, steep in parts. The first walk will be less strenuous and you will work your way up to the longer walks. You will need mobility and a basic level of fitness, but you do not need to be superman. By the end of your walking holiday in France, you could well be a bit fitter than when you started.
