French Conversation Holidays
There are not a conventional school lessons. The concept behind the french conversation holidays is that they are first and foremost a holiday, but with a lot of learning involved too. In fact you could well learn a lot more by going out, talking, and enjoying yourself than by sitting in a classroom full of books.

The main teacher has a degree in French and has both teaching experience and experience working for Thomson's as a holiday rep in France. This is what he says of his learning experience:

"By far and away the best method of learning French I found was simply by going to France and speaking. I could not actually say that I learnt more in the first two months in France than I had learnt in the previous 10 years at school and Uni, however, it certainly felt like that. My fluency certainly improved dramatically as soon as I spent whole days at a time speaking French, rather than a few minutes here and there. I genuinely believe this is the best way of becoming an accomplished French speaker, especially if the student already has a decent basic level of French."

One of the main concepts behind our holidays / teaching is that we want them to be very enjoyable. We don't look to take large groups. We take a maximum of 4 people, or even individuals. We don't have set itineraries or lesson structures. When you arrive we would sit down with you, tell you what there is to do and see in the area, then take you where you want to go. If you have not already been to the French Alps, it is a fantastic area. It is probably the prettiest in Europe and one of the prettiest in the world. It would be crazy to come to such a beautiful place then spend each day indoors.

Of course you are also there to learn, so the conversation would be in French. The main difference between the conversations here and with those in a classroom would be that the conversations would be real and spontaneous rather than simulated ones. The emphasis would be learning by communicating in real situations, rather than mechanically learning grammar in the classroom.

Depending upon timing (and your wishes) these french conversation holidays could incorporate meeting real French families in real French life situations such as soirées among friends.

The French have a great way of life and it would enhance any trip of you could get an insight into this.

Prices for these conversation holidays start from just £195 per person per week. Please click here for more details
